DHS City Councilman Gary Bosworth and the connection to the attacks on CA State Assemblywoman Bonnie Garcia's children.

We found out on the web recently (01/31/05) that City Council person Gary Bosworth is a Director and the Chairman of the Political Action Committee of the Stonewall Democrats.

This Organization is a strong local left wing Extremist advocacy group that promotes Gay Marriage instead of legal Domestic Partnerships.  In their material they often refer to themselves as "Queers" and "Homo's". As Americans living in a free society, they have a right to promote their position. That is what is great about living in America.

What is the most “Extremist” about this organization is not their position on marriage as much as what they are willing to do to promote their cause.

What concerns us is that Gary is the Chairperson of the Political Action Committee of this organization. This organization has in the past had no decency boundaries when it comes to its “Political Action”. Case in point is when they sent out extremely malicious email attacks of Bonnie's Children.   Another link regarding the attacks.  This was done under Gary's direct leadership.

Gary stated during the last DHS City Council meeting (02/01/05) that he was "proud" of his organization and their advocacy works in the name of "equal rights for all".  I personally would not be proud of any organization that attacks small innocent children in the name of any cause.

Al Qaida flying planes into the towers comes to mind when we think of organizations that are willing to go to extreme lengths and destroy the innocents in the name of their cause.  Unlike Gary, most of us would not be proud of our involvement in such an organization no matter what their cause was.

Gary chairs or belongs to a very large number of liberal advocacy groups. As an American citizen, he has that right. We don't fault him for his commitment to these groups. Our concern is his publicly stated pride in the Desert Stone Wall Democrats past political actions.

We are also concerned about his ability to devote the necessary time to our city as a Councilperson when he is also extremely busy with his involvement in all of these advocacy groups.

During many Council meetings, Gary seems very absent in his verbal participation to the point of almost being asleep.  Now maybe we know the reason why.
