Dear Fred,
It has been two weeks
since we reported graffiti that had been on one of your directional
signs for over two months. The graffiti was painted over but we
would have thought this would have been an indication to you that
you should check your other signs.
That thought occurred
to us and we did check. We found more or your signs with graffiti on
them. It needs to be removed.
More than that, you
need to put in place an effective sign maintenance program. It is
not acceptable that you have should be given the privilege to place
your directional signs in the city right-of-ways and that you do not
have an effective maintenance program in place
This is not a matter
for citizens or this website to report to you when your signs have
graffiti on them or otherwise need maintenance. You should have
known, and certainly should now know, that your signs need to be
maintained.
Do your job, maintain your signs or take these signs down.

| These Building Industry Assoc. signs that provide
direction to housing developments in our city have had graffiti on
them for over two weeks. |
 |

This sign remained like this for two months. A FODHS reader sent in
the tip (see letter) |
Dear Mr. King,
This sign has had graffiti on it for over two months. I drive past
it everyday and it is the same. No one cares. If the city is going
to let the builders put up these signs then they builders should do
regular inspections and maintenance of them. I don't like these
signs at all but with graffiti on them they should be torn down or
maintained. Another shame on our city that let the developers get
away with everything and do nothing to be responsible citizen.
Signed,
An angry Desert Hot Springs voter that will not forget.
We Agree!
Maintain Your Signs Or Take Them Down!
